Edukator, mentor i inovator u području informatike i STEM-a

Dejan Drabić, magistar informatike i nastavni predavač na Fakultetu organizacije i informatike Varaždin (FOI), već više od trideset godina posvećen je obrazovanju djece, mladih i nastavnika u području informatike, računalnih algoritama i razvoja računalnih igara. Kao predsjednik udruge Mladi informatički stručnjaci (MIS) te voditelj i idejni osnivač Centra izvrsnosti informatike Međimurske županije (CIIMŽ), izgradio je jedinstven sustav rada koji povezuje entuzijazam, stručnost i suvremene tehnologije.

Njegov rad obuhvaća edukaciju na svim razinama - od osnovnoškolskih radionica, preko mentoriranja srednjoškolaca i natjecatelja na državnim i međunarodnim informatičkim natjecanjima, do stručnih edukacija za nastavnike i profesora informatike te primjenu digitalnih tehnologija u poslovnom sektoru. Predavač je na brojnim projektima koji promiču STEM kulturu, digitalne kompetencije i kreativno programiranje u Hrvatskoj.

Još od 2000. godine, kada je kao učitelj informatike s učenicima osvojio prvo mjesto u državi s projektom “NetStudy” objavljenim u časopisu BUG, Dejan kontinuirano potiče razvoj informatičke pismenosti, algoritamskog razmišljanja i inovativnog pristupa učenju. Kroz udruge MIS i MIK stvorio je okruženje u kojem učenici uče kroz praktičan rad, suradnju i stvaranje — od prvih koraka u programiranju do izrade računalnih igara i aplikacija.

Dejan je ujedno dopredsjednik Hrvatskog saveza informatičara (HSIN), predsjednik Zajednice tehničke kulture Međimurske županije (ZTKMŽ) te član Izvršnog odbora ZTK Grada Čakovca, gdje aktivno doprinosi razvoju tehničke kulture i digitalne transformacije obrazovnog sustava. Bio je i član Državnog povjerenstva za uvođenje informatike u osnovne škole kao obveznog predmeta, čime je dao doprinos razvoju nacionalne kurikularne reforme.

Kao predavač FOI-ja i edukator u poslovnom sektoru, Dejan povezuje akademsku izvrsnost s realnim potrebama tržišta — prenoseći znanja iz područja informacijskih sustava, poslovne informatike i suvremenih digitalnih tehnologija u kontekstu 21. stoljeća. Svojim pristupom spaja svijet obrazovanja i gospodarstva, potičući mlade i odrasle da tehnologiju koriste za stvaranje vrijednosti, inovacija i društvenog napretka.

Dejan Drabic, MSc in Informatics

Educator, Mentor, and Innovator in the Field of Informatics and STEM

Dejan Drabic, Master of Informatics and Lecturer at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin (FOI), has been dedicated to educating children, youth, and teachers in the fields of informatics, computer algorithms, and game development for more than thirty years. As the President of the Association of Young IT Experts (MIS) and the founder and head of the Center of Excellence in Informatics of Međimurje County (CIIMŽ), he has built a unique educational ecosystem that connects enthusiasm, expertise, and modern technology.

His work spans all levels of education — from elementary school workshops and mentoring high school students at national and international competitions, to training teachers, professors, and professionals in digital technologies and programming. He is a lecturer and mentor in numerous projects promoting STEM education, digital competence, and creative programming throughout Croatia.

Since 2000, when as an IT teacher he led his students to win first place in Croatia with the project “NetStudy”, published in BUG magazine, Dejan has continuously encouraged the development of computer literacy, algorithmic thinking, and innovative approaches to learning. Through the MIS and MIK associations, he has created environments where students learn by doing — through creativity, collaboration, and real-world projects ranging from basic programming to the development of computer games and applications.

Dejan is also the Vice President of the Croatian Informatics Association (HSIN), the President of the Technical Culture Community of Međimurje County (ZTKMŽ), and a member of the Executive Board of the Technical Culture Community of the City of Čakovec (ZTK Čakovec), where he actively contributes to the advancement of technical culture and digital transformation in education. He was also a member of the National Committee for the Introduction of Informatics as a Mandatory Subject in Primary Schools, helping shape Croatia’s national educational reform.

As a lecturer at FOI and a trainer in the business sector, Dejan bridges academic excellence and practical application — sharing expertise in information systems, business informatics, and modern digital technologies relevant to 21st-century skills. His approach unites education and industry, empowering young people and professionals alike to use technology as a tool for creativity, innovation, and social progress.
